Minors

We at The Challenge are especially concerned about protecting children’s privacy. We urge parents and teachers to be involved in children’s Internet explorations. It is particularly important for children to obtain their parents’ permission before providing any information online--whether to our site or another site--and hope that parents and guardians will always be involved in those decisions. Most importantly, when children do provide information through this Web site, it is only used to enable us to respond to the writer, and not to create profiles of children. The information is all subject to the Privacy Act.

Intrusion Detection

For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, we employ software programs to monitor traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. In the event of authorized law enforcement investigations and pursuant to any required legal process, information from these programs may be used to help identify an individual.

Use of Our Materials/Information

All text materials on The Challenge Web site are in the public domain. We encourage copying or other utilization of the text. However, we do ask that The Challenge be credited as the source when possible. Some of the graphic materials on The Challenge Web site are in the public domain and others are used with permission. Use of these graphic images requires permission that is not necessarily ours to give. If you have any questions about use of graphic images, please contact webmaster@thechallenge.org

Change of Policy

Learning Systems Group retains the right to amend or otherwise update this privacy policy at any time. By using our site, you consent to the collection and use of information as we have described. If we change our policies, we will post the changes in this privacy policy statement so that you are always aware of them. With this knowledge, you can make an informed decision about whether you wish to provide personal information to us.
